Coming to West Seattle in 2010….The Sustainable West Seattle Tool Library!

Do you ever borrow your neighbors’ tools?  Do you wish they had a better selection?  Have you ever heard of a community tool library?

Sustainable West Seattle is currently developing a community-led tool library here in West Seattle that would provide low-cost, community access to a wide range of tools, training, and relevant advice.

And we would love to have your help!

The steering committee for the Tool Library project has been meeting every other Tuesday at 7pm at Uptown Espresso (4301 SW Edmunds St.) near Alaska Junction in West Seattle, and you’re certainly invited to join our efforts.

As we look towards an impending 2010 opening, the steering committee has been investigating a number of issues, such as insurance, funding, tool inventory, location, community demand, and potential partnerships.

Though we’re making great progress, we could always use an expert opinion or two.  And, even if you’re not an expert, we can always use the company.

This is great chance to be involved at the start of an amazing community project.

To get involved email library@sustainablewestseattle.org.
