King County invites the West Seattle community to attend an Open House on the Barton CSO Control Project. The Open House will be held on Saturday, October 13, 2012 at the Westside School, 7740 34th Avenue SW, from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon.
The team invites you to join us to discuss:
- Design refinements since the June block meetings
- Updated designs on individual blocks
- Plantings proposed for bioretention swales
- Maintenance approach for bioretention swales
- RainWise voluntary incentive program
A representative from Stewardship Partners, organizer of the 12,000 Rain Gardens campaign, will be at the event to discuss the rain garden movement around Puget Sound. A soil scientist will be available to answer questions about how bioretention soils work to infiltrate water and break down common stormwater pollutants. All ages are welcome – there will be a kid’s activity table.
