The Friends of Lincoln Park (FLiP) are a group of volunteers working to restore and maintain 80 acres of mature forest in Lincoln Park.
We work in the park twice monthly, removing invasive plants such as holly, ivy, blackberries and stinky bob and planting native plants.
We are a part of the Green Seattle Partnership (gsp.org), a twenty year project to restore Seattle’s urban forests.
Work parties are on the first Saturday and third Sunday of every month from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon, rain or shine (we do cancel if there are high wind warnings).
We meet at 9:00 am by the kiosk in the north parking lot (Fauntleroy Way SW and SW Rose St).
Bring garden gloves and hand clippers, if you have them, or we’ll have extras. Dress in Northwest layers with sturdy shoes or boots. All ages are welcome to join us for a green workout and the satisfaction of contributing to the sustainabilty of West Seattle!
