Fall 2011 Small & Simple Grants Cycle Starts Sept. 1

Shoreline Access & Street Ends in SW Seattle To Be Improved

Seattle Parks and Recreation and the Seattle Department of Transportation are working together to improve public street ends and shoreline access. The public street ends along Lake Washington, Lake Union, Puget Sound, and other waterways provide Seattle many opportunities to provide public access to the shoreline. SIFF To Re-Open Uptown Theater October, Use As New Venue

In case you haven’t heard by now, the Seattle International Film Festival  announced that it will re-open the historic Uptown Theater in Queen Anne this fall in conjunction with the Grand Opening of the new SIFF Film Center at Seattle Center.

Delridge Produce Coop News: Buyer’s Club Strong, New Web

There have been some new developments with Delridge Produce Cooperative.  The Buyer’s Club is going strong – they’ve done three orders over six weeks now, and just started up a new online ordering system, so that those who don’t wish to come to meetings will be able to skip those and show up to collect their produce at Youngstown Cultural Arts Center, outside of the West Seattle Tool Library every other Sunday.

Emergency Prep Focus of Fall’s Small & Simple N’hood Grants

The next cycle of the Small and Simple Projects Fund will have a single focus on emergency preparedness this fall. Seattle Department of Neighborhoods is partnering with the Office of Emergency Management to offer this funding opportunity which invests city resources to help community members connect, organize, and plan for emergency situations with their neighbors.
