Prepare now and get ready for the 2nd Annual Money Free Shopping Spree Monday Nov. 16th, 6:30pm to 10pm. at the NEW High Point Neighborhood House - 6400 Sylvan Way SW
The Money Free Shopping Spree is a holiday celebration of resourcefulness that recaptures the spirit of giving before commercialism took over the Holiday Spirit.
Last year this was a well attended event with participants trading $40 relative equity value items in 3 categories, Food Crafts, Art Crafts and Services. As usual we ask that these items be of a sustainable nature.
Examples of Items from last year:
- organic honey
- hand woven scarves and headwear
- wooden driers for plastic bags
- edible garden consultation
- home energy audit
- dried fruit arrangements
- dried flower center pieces
- reusable school lunch bags
- prepared dinners for two
- one hour house cleaning with green cleaning products
- computer services
- acrylic art on panels, and much, much more…
Also, Seattle Permaculture will be hosting a Seed Swap table.
Let your energy and imagination be your guide but start preparing now for a evening holiday event unlike any other.

How to participate in the “Money Free Shopping Spree”
The “Money Free Shopping Spree” is a Holiday celebration of gifting without money currency consumerism. There are many things that can make more meaningful gift giving than what has become the consumer driven form of gifting.
The “Money Free Shopping Spree” has 3 trading categories:
Food Crafts: Items that you have expertise in or have done many times at home
Art Crafts: Items to cheer up the holidays as well as enjoyed any time of the year
Services: This is a very popular gift item that can incorporate resourcefulness and imagination; please create smaller paper sized gift certificates.
Use your imagination and remember to use a sustainable/holiday theme. Try to determine$40 equity in your item. Don’t worry about being able to trade. Your first trade will be prearranged.
Money Free Shopping Spree Potluck..
You are invited to participate in the potluck dinner preceding the Money Free Shopping Spree, 6:30pm at the High Point Neighborhood House, 6400 Sylvan Way S.W.
We please ask that you bring reusable eating utensils and plates for yourself and company. We also ask that you would take the utensils and plates home with you after the evening’s event for cleaning at home.
If you have garden supplies to offer feel free to provide what you have in abundance. If you are preparing an item from local stores and markets last names beginning with A-L bring salads and deserts, last names starting with M-Z bring entrees.
